Randy will talk about: Service Meshs with Istio

When you’re operating multiple microservice within a cluster, you might eventually come to the point where you want to have more control over the connectivity between the microservices. Which service is speaking to whom? Is the connection SSL secured? How can I trace requests to my application? Can I run canary tests on the microservices? Istio is currently in version 0.8 and will most likely become GA within this year. So it is about time to have a look at it!

Robert will talk about: MFA for kubernetes using android phones’ fingerprint reader

The challenges of implementing an identity provider for kubernetes and the benefits it brings. Is it worth connecting your phone to the cluster? Are biometrics the new norm for corporate security departments? These are the questions that Robert has tried to answer in his quest to implement such a system. He will present the problems during facing it.
